Our second home is a beautifully maintained three bedroom chalet that is a true mountain get-a-way at a 4,000 foot elevation. Enjoy the fresh mountain air, share the quiet joy of a spectacular sunrise or sunset over Grandfather Mountain, and revel in the peace and tranquility of our cozy second home. Enjoy all of the activities available throughout the High Country (all within a 15 mile or less radius) or simply relax and enjoy the solitude of the mountains from this spectacular location.

The home is entered from a front porch into a cozy yet spacious great room with cathedral ceilings (dining room/living room/kitchen) that is well furnished with mountain decor and a large Oriental rug. The large wall-to-wall sliding glass doors and cathedral windows along the back side of the house offer panoramic views of the surrounding Appalachian mountains, including Grandfather Mountain. It almost serves to bring the outdoors indoors. During cold nights, guests can enjoy the gas logs in the stone fireplace in the great room, watch movies, or play games together. On warm nights family and friends can congregate on the oversized deck, enjoy the view, and possibly grill out. The well-equipped kitchen and dining area open to the living area, adding to the spaciousness of this comfortable home. This large room also contains access to a washer and dryer which is hidden behind folding doors and a wet bar which is also hidden behind another set of folding doors.

Also located on the main floor is the master bedroom, which is beautifully appointed with a queen size bed, a comfortable chaise lounge, and has a dressing area with a walk-in closet and the master bath. Sliding glass doors offer private access to the back deck which stretches for the length of the house. You can lie in bed and look out at the mountains.

On the other side of the house are 2 additional bedrooms and another full bathroom. The front bedroom contains a full size bed and has an inviting children's reading area. The back bedroom is charmingly decorated with a full size antique bed and bedroom set. It also has a sliding glass door that opens onto the back deck of the house and provides a breathtaking view of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Guests will not be disappointed with the overall welcoming feel of our home away from home.

Gas log fireplace, linens provided (no baby/toddler linens), washing machine, clothes dryer, wet bar, off street parking, enclosed garage for one car with remote control, ceiling fans in great room and all three bedrooms.

Master: queen size bed, Bedroom #2 - full size bed, Bedroom #3 - full size bed.

Flat screen televisions and DVD players in living area and all bedrooms, streaming television, DVD library, portable CD player, and large collection of board games, books, and puzzles.

Cooking utensils, full kitchen (dishes, glasses, pots/pans, bakeware, mixing bowls, etc), microwave, flat top range with 2 ovens, ice maker, refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, garbage disposal, drip coffee maker, Keurig, toaster, can opener, hand mixer, full size mixer, small food chopper, immersion blender, crockpot, ice cream/yogurt maker (with instruction book and recipes).

Large back deck - runs full length of the house, four points of access through sliding glass doors, outdoor seating table, charming front deck. The basement includes a Weber charcoal grill which can easily be pulled outside for use.

High speed wireless internet / WiFi (bring your own computer). No local telephone (bring your Verizon cellphone).

Owners live in the area and are usually available to try and meet your needs.

Non-smoking only. Children welcome. Excellent for seniors as all living areas are on one level (front porch access is 2 steps up). Small Pets under 20lbs considered. Pet parents must clean paws before entering.

• $245 per night
• $1350 for week surrounding holiday

Additional fees:

• All rentals require a one-time cleaning fee of $90.
• All rentals subject to state sales and local occupancy tax of 12.75%.
• Add pet fee of $20 per night for per pet (limit 2, 20 pounds max each).
• Security Deposit of $250.

• Signed and initialed contracts and rules agreement required.
• Must be at least 24 years of age and stay in the home the entire rental period of time.
• Copy of valid Driver's License required.
• Guest list required (names and ages of all guests).
• No overnight guests without prior owner approval.
• Our home must be returned in the same condition as it was found. No professional cleaning needed.
